Moving and Sizing Objects

To move or resize an object precisely:

Select the object, choose Tools > Inspector, choose Size from the pop-up menu at the top of the Inspector, and edit the x, y, w, and h fields.
The x and y values are the position of the object. They're measured in pixels from the lower-left corner of the enclosing object, such as a window, dialog box, or the screen.

The w and h values are the size of the object. They're measured in pixels from the lower-left corner of the object itself.

Moving an Object to Another Window

To move an object to another window:

Select the object, and Option-drag it to a another window or dialog box.

Shrinking an Object to Its Minimum Size

To shrink an object to its minimum size:

In your interface, enter the longest possible piece of text for the object. For example, in a text field, this would the longest string it might contain.
Select the object and choose Format > Size > Size to Fit.

Making Several Objects the Same Size

To make several interface objects the same size:

Click the object whose size you want the others to match.
Shift-click the rest.
Choose Format > Size > Same Size.

Shortcuts for Moving and Resizing Objects

To move an object:

Select it, and press the arrow keys.

To resize an object:

Select the object, and drag a resize handle.

To resize a window:

Drag its grow box.
